About the program
The German Studies program in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures offers up-to-date, effective language instruction for beginners through to advanced students.
Even if you have no prior knowledge of German, it is possible to begin and complete a degree in German Studies. Many students choose to combine a degree in this area with a related field such as English, French, History, or Education. Even if you do not major in German Studies, taking courses in this area will enrich your education and can be used to meet the Humanities Requirement. Courses in German culture and literature are available in both English and German.

German Studies graduates may find employment in a variety of areas, from teaching to library science, from publishing to travel and hospitality.
